When emotions flow, be an empty receptacle.
A heart filled with criticism hasn't room for pity.
Empathy is one of our greatest strengths. A friend who is simply present and listens to the worries of a troubled soul is like cool compress to a fevered mind. Only once she has drained herself of all the poison she harbors, can she then accept the cool waters of comfort, wisdom and assurance.
